Procedures to Clean Your Tungsten Rings

The metal tungsten,  combined with carbon atoms, form tungsten carbide, one of the strongest metals on earth – much stronger than gold and platinum. While tungsten has always been known for its durability, most recently it is also known for its stunning appearance in jewelry. If you have acquired tungsten jewelry, you will need to take good care of it, just as you would the more costly metals. The following is a guide to cleaning your tungsten jewelry.

Dilute Vinegar in a Cup or Bowl:  Half water, half vinegar.  Carefully place your tungsten jewelry in the solution and let it soak for 30 minutes or so.  Be sure it is completely covered with the vinegar and water mixture.  After 30 minutes, carefully swish it around in the bowl, remove it and rinse. Check to see if there is any built-up dirt left, and if there is brush it gently with a soft toothbrush until clean. Rinse again and dry with a soft absorbent towel.

Or if you prefer, you can buy jewelry cleaner from a local store or online. The vinegar solution won’t cost as much though, and I’ve found that it works every bit as well.
